Was the ARM platform abandoned?

I’m considering buying a RB3011UiAS for an experimental SOHO environment, and then - if it meet our expectations - sourcing this device model for most of our clients. Meaning that this a planned mid-long term However, some posts on this forum gave me the impression that the ARM IPQ platform isn’t being actively maintained by Mikrotik/RouterBoard anymore, or there isn’t plans to launch new devices with this architecture.

Is my impression correct, or am I mistaken?

Welcome to the forum!

AFAIK the ARM platform has NOT been abandoned, the RB3011 has been an immensely popular product for Mikrotik.

I think they are just struggling to make enough of them…

A bunch of the IPQ features such as Hardware Crypto require a newer Kernel than the one used in RouterOS v6, so these features will likely not be available until RouterOS v7 :frowning:

i dont think arm platform is abandoned on routerOS

arm packages are updated to the latest version

you have dude package, is the smaller device with dude server feature.

the only drawback i can see on arm platform is the user manager absence, but is not a big deal because it has a level 5 license allowing to only 50 sessions on user manager
