WDS and 3*Sectors

Hello everyone;
Now i want to achieve the following scenario

Site1: RB532 + Expansion Card + 3x600mW mPCI + 3x120 Sectors + Leased Lines

Site 2: RB532 + r52 + Omni

Site 3: RB532 + r52 + Omni

As it can be understood easily; my backbone site is site 1. Site 2 and site 3 are sites that I want them to transfer all their traffic to Site 1. I do have directionals as well but can I achieve this scenario with only one radio card on each site (site2 and 3) ?
I will run hotspot in site1 in a different computer. I dont want to run hotspot in site 2 and 3 aswell. Site2 and 3 will act as an AP too.

Is it WDS that im looking for ?
If yes can you tell me the basics of it that i should learn ?
Thanks

If you use WDS the network will be a big switch (bridge). If you don’t want bridge network, you must to route it

On site1, I don’t believe that a 532 board can support 3 600mw card. In fact I don’t think it will even support 2 of them.

As for the 3 sectors running WDS, I’ve not tried it. But I’ve asked about it and have received mixed responses. The argument is regarding self-interference from being on the same frequency. One of the main benefits of sectors is maximizing the total number of users on a particular site. Wouldn’t running WDS on those 3 sectors be worse than simply running 3 different frequencies and bridging all of the radios? Is there anyone out there running WDS on multiple sectors?

Eric

thanks for the answers. I have asked about 3 mpci s with rb532.5A and received a positive feedback from serjies in one of the forum topics.

What you guys recommend ? Using WDS or AP-PtP strategy at the sites ?

I think that support for 3 mPCI is garanted only for “low” power card like “cm9”. I think with 3 600mw card the rb532 is overloaded… In my network I have only a routerb board with maximum 3 X cm9 + 1 X SR5…

I run 3 sectors on RB 532B, Sr9 and SR5 in the same enclosure. Works fine. You must use different frequencies for each sector for each band. If we had gps timing like Motorola we could use same frequencies on each sector… not possible with MT… unless someone can correct me.

WDS only works if you can reach the signal from your stations, what you need to do is do repeating sites. Thus you dont have to setup ap on each 532, but this makes your load on main side higher. I advise using a P4 pc at base, then 532s ar repeating sites.
