wds and dfs

Hi,

as Manual states wds and dfs cannot be used together.
But why? Is it difficult to let the wds-slave search for
his master like a ap client does?

DFS is not used with wds-slave, so it doesn’t matter. Wds-slave will seek out a master, in order to choose it’s channel. Same for station-wds.

The only time it matters, is when you have multiple “ap-bridge” units in a wds system. Since those devices in ap-bridge mode will select the least used channel when set for DFS, they are unlikely to all choose the same channel, and are thus unlikely to communicate.

It’s fine to setup one ap-bridge with WDS, and the rest as WDS-slave.
