Hello.
I bought two routers and it is my first contact with Mikrotic devices. My plan to build network with using 4-5 devices but I saw that is not so easy and I couldn’t find info how to do it.
I have WAN network connected to eth1 in first router (main).
I fight two days with WDS connected to wlan1 becouse after every reboot it was nessesery to “change settings” (save them without any changes) WDS was not active.
Finally it’s working when I add another virtal wlan card, set up dynamic WDS for this card, and it’s connected but without traffic.
On secon router I disabled DHCP, set up IP, and all interfaces (with vlan3) is connected to bridge (all interfaces are there expect eth1).
So I can’t create connection between them and I don’t know why (I watched couple hours manuals on Youtube with many topics, also I try to read manual and still nothing). I try also with DHCP relay.
Probably it’s somting easy, and I want to have one main router with dhcp server, to this router to have jump point, and from this jump point another jump. Something similar to repeater, but not directly that.
So I thought to use hidden network as a WDS bridge between routers, and each router as a AP with the same SSID name. This is first step, becouse when I reproduce wire connection with wireless WDS I want to have all routers/AP to work as Mesh with using wlan2.
So I have network from my provider in front of house, and here will be main router. I want to have another AP on first floor, second AP in basement, and third connected to to one of them (depends of signal streaght) to have internet in garden behind house. Last one for garden before house connected directly to main router. Quite complicated, thats why I thought about Mesh becouse laptop needs to frequently change AP, and It’s not working well.
It is possible to create something like that, and how to finish “first step” - to have internet on second router with WDS?
