i’ve just wanted to share my experience with others - who don’t want to spend a lot of time debugging…
I have a (rapid)spanning tree based ring between my routers.
One of my routerboard was ‘misconfigured’ - what means, all of my boards have configured WDS-static and
that WDS (or VLAN on WDS) was manually linked to the bridge.
The key is manually. After few hours of debugging i didn’t know why the packets go in unwanted way - and why that port have so big path cost. Then I found, the ‘bad’ router was configured with WDS static and WDS default bridge set (instead of no set).
The different:
WDS default bridge set (auto) - path cost=80
WDS default bridge not set (manual) - path cost=10
So please keep care of using only manual - if you want the board do what You want.
Mikrotik: this happened on ROS v4.5 (but i see no change for that in changelog)
