Does anyone use MT w/WDS to act as a repeater to normal wifi laptop customers?
I ask as i’ve now had 3 different hardware / software setups over the past 6 months and NONE of them work.
The issue is always on the repeater end, and the problem is the wifi users connecting to the repeater, not the repeater connecting to the master.
setup:
on every floor there is a MT unit running 2.9.30 with the radio set to: AP-bridge and wds set to static. this way users on the floor can still connect to the main unit, then where ever i set up the wds repeater, users can connect to that if they can not reach the main unit (as some units can not)
The actual network layout works fine. i.e. the wds links are strong, stay up for days and i can ping everything, its just that about every client that has tried to connect to these WDS repeaters, just about without exception encounters all kinds of issues and of which the repeater log messages are:

06:44:51 wireless,info 00:16:CE:75:FB:59@wlan1: connected

In this case the client can connect fine to the main floor unit, but this is what he gets when connecting to the WDS unit, to the Main unit he gets RSSI of -88, and to the repeater he gets -65.
This is just one example, i took from last night. this case is the same for any of the other two wds repeaters i have + with different end user clients. The clients just report the wireless does not work, and will often connect and disconnect.
The hardware of these repeaters is: 2 x RB 112 w/ SR2 and running 2.9.38 and 1 x Wrap 2E w/ NMP-8602 and running 2.9.25. All repeaters exhibit the same issues…users keep getting connects and disconnects and seemingly useless log messages on the MT end as i know all these users have good RSSI’s since the repeaters are IN their units.
any ideas or experiences as this is quite disappointing as you can expect.
thanks
ps:
