WDS Static X Dynamic

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me the diference between static and dynamic mode? How is the advantage of each one?

And how can I setup a static wds?

Today I’ve 3 PTP wds links setup as bellow:

  • Mikrotik 1

  • Wlan1 - Mode bridge - wds: dynamic - bridge: bridge1

  • Mikrotik 2

  • Wlan1 - Mode station-wdsbridge

It’s working great but I want to test the PTP using static wds, but I can’t configure it.

Regards

From the manual:

wds-mode (disabled | dynamic | static) - WDS mode:
• disabled - WDS interfaces are disabled
• dynamic - WDS interfaces are created ‘on the fly’
• static - WDS interfaces are created manually

wds-default-bridge (name; default: none) - the default bridge for WDS interface. If you use dynamic WDS then it is very useful in cases when wds connection is reset - the newly created dynamic WDS interface will be put in this bridge

Hi cibernet

How can I configure a static WDS system???

regards
