Can you use MikrotTik WDS with other manufacturers AP’s and if so are there any things to be aware off.

yes u can..things to be aware of:
security may not work..
some manufactures are only compatable with each other.
other issues but nothing major.
i have several different types of links (5 or 6) MT to assorted manufactures and they work great..

yes, one of our wireless mikrotik+R52 with wds to proxim ap2000+oninoco around 6,6km work great.... [as AP2AP]
