Web caching

Hi all,

Today we have a routerBoard1000 and 1 CF. The webcaching is activated on RAM (cache on disk = no).
In web-proxy settings > status, it indicate total RAM used 24143 kiB

I read in http://www.wirelessconnect.eu/articles/mikrotik_web_proxy_setup_guide (give by the wiki Mikrotik) : “writing to a routers on-board NAND storage or Compact Flash Cards are not recommended” but in http://routerboard.com/pricelist.php?showProduct=58 “Two Compact Flash slots for webproxy cache”

finaly, we must caching-web on RAM or on Compact Flash for the best performance ?

thanks you, regards

PS: sorry for my incorrect english.

more correct would be to say that it’s not recommended to use the system drive (NAND), but you can use memory or external disk, like CF, USB or SD. You can configure which drive to use with the Store menu

thank you for your reply, we will switch on the CF
