Web Proxy affects Bandwidth Shaping?

Hi,

This is my current set-up. All clients (port 80 and 443) connect to the proxy server for caching via manual proxy.
The proxy server is used for caching http traffic and https(only facebook apps and youtube videos, also the reason for manual proxy and not transparent).

With my set-up, whenever I check the firewall connections, the only source there is from the proxy server.

My question now is, will my shaper be affected because the router only sees one connection?

I’m using is pcq to distribute bandwidth to equally to all clients.

Thanks.

anyone?

yes the proxy in the middle affect the traffic shaping, the border router will see the connections coming from proxy ip not clients ip addresses.

because of caching the amount traffic before and after proxy will be different.

do a search in forum and internet, you will find some implementations solving this scenarios.

i dont use proxies because that i dont have any configuration examples of that
