Web proxy generate 100 % CPU

2013 11 01 Mik Max Cache Error.jpg
Web proxy generate 100 % CPU after 5-15 minutes from boot up on RB493. Web proxy service himself use 98 % as shown in profiles.
Restore from backup .. even with 2-3-4 steps ahead .. and same behavior.
this was happening on 5.26. Even after downgrade to 5.25 same thing.

any suggestion for solving the problem ?

how can I investigate this ? where can be seen what sites actually access the users ?

Proxy on a 493 is probably too much for it to handle.

Go to IP > Web Proxy.
What are Parent Proxy, Max Cache Size and Cache on Disk set to?

Click Cache Contents button.

Users access any site they want !

I thought maybe you were running the proxy on the 493 itself, without parent proxy, and that could cause high cpu.

No. If you’re using parent proxy, I don’t know if this would even matter…

After upgrading to 6.5 … after setup Max Cache to 20000 KiB … on RB450 and RB493 (setup to 5000 on RB750) … the machines works normal. Web proxy are using 0.5-10 % CPU.

For curiosity I setup max Cache to 30000 KiB and choose Cache to Disk … but this generate bigger fluctuation 10 - 75 % CPU and this makes overall CPU load to 100 % and makes machine slow responsive !

So .. it is not the same to Cache on DISK or Cache on Ram

Now is clear ! I do not know why someone who read not said so … probably others do not test it themselves
