simple question, is web proxy has an unlimited bandwith to my internet connection.
for example: if a user with 128k/256k limit try to download a file with 100 mbytes size and i’m enabling webproxy, the download rate for this user will be 256k but my web proxy will download this file with unlimited bandwith from the internet or with 256k like the user limit?
and if the web proxy has an unlimited bandwith to the internt how can we set a limit for it.
10x for ur reply. i’m using simple queue to limit users. but i’m asking if webproxy accept this limit when downloading files from the internet. best regards.
if you set a limit for a user , it doesnt matter weather he is downloading direct from internet or from web-proxy , unless you set a simple Queue at the top of simple Queue list for web-proxy download , now the user limit will not effect what he is downloading from the cahce drive ..
you cannot do that unless you are using V3 , unfortunatly web-proxy in V3 still without fixing since R1 .. it may freez the whole hardware , or it may only prevent any page from display , of course this may happen at any sudden time !!!
U still not understandin “samsoft08” all what i want to know is if webproxy use all the available bandwith to download file to hard drive or it respect the limit setting for the user who is downloading this file.
best regards
you have to know if the file is not exist in cache drive the user will download it directly from internet .. of course the user will not get over his limit .. but if the file is cachable and its already exist in the cache drive you can use V3 and apply some rules to give this download a free bandwidth , of course expect system freezing or some errors ( V3 + web proxy)..
that’s what i was waiting to hear so if the file not exist in the cache the user ip download the file directly from the internet and not the webproxy who download it.
best regards.
