Web proxy

Hi,

I have blocked some sites in my LAN through web proxy and it is working but when i’m enabling web proxy My router is consuming more bandwidth where as in my LAN consumption is only 4MB and on Router WAN it is showing 7MB nearly 3-4 MB is getting wasted.

I have removed my LAN and checked only connecting my router even though router consumption is 3-4MB without any LAN connected to it. If i’m disabling web proxy then My LAN traffic and Router WAN port traffic is same if i’m enabling web proxy then there is a difference of 3-4MB on my LAN and WAN. Could any one tell me what could be the issue or is there any other method to block sites in my LAN.

I’m using 450G routerboard

Thanks
Sri

Please refer to the Web Proxy config, where i would recommend you start looking for the issue is

[admin@cybert] /ip proxy access> print detail
Flags: X - disabled
0 src-address=192.168.88.0/24 action=allow hits=30274

1 src-address=!192.168.88.0/24 action=deny hits=4856787

Also remember not to use your NAND (aka built in drive) as a web proxy, but rather SD or so forth, since the NAND is not really meant to be used as a constant write read delete device.
