We are working on a project where we would like to provide a simplified user interface. Webbox seems to be just the right thing, but we need to get a couple of things added to it. Anybody have any alternate suggestions for simple user interface?
The main thing that we want to be able to do is set everything up in the back using console or winbox, so most of the complex stuff the customer never sees and will not be able to change.
In the simple web interface (presumably webbox) we would let the user do the following things (“only” if possible, but if there were a few additional options that we told people to ignore that would be ok):
- select mode of ap bridge or station pseudobridge
- set ssid
- select the frequency
- see registration table
- scan or snoop for available aps in the area
- set wep or wpa info
- set ip address static or dhcp on bridge1 (which will be preconfigured to have wlan1 and ether1 in it already)
So in order to do this, we would need webbox to support these functions:
- allow drop down list mode option of station pseudobridge (not available today)
- have a scan or snoop feature available
- allow setting ip address of bridge1 interface
I know that it would be possible to write something like this using the new API, but that would take too long.
Any other suggestions?
