Hi, I have both an hAP Lite and a routerboard Metal 52 ac.
Both devices are RouterOS 6.38.5 (Current)
Both devices have been factory resetted before configuring them
Metal 52 ac
RouterOS
Configured as a CPE in QuickSet
Internet Address (Auto)
Network settings (LAN):
- Address Static
- LAN IP 192.168.89.1
- Subnet 255.255.255.0
hAP Lite
Connected on port 1 (internet) to the Metal 52 ac
Configured as a Home AP in QuickSet
Internet settings:
- Address Static
- LAN IP 192.168.89.2
- Subnet 255.255.255.0
- Gateway 192.168.89.1
Network settings (LAN)
- Address Static
- LAN IP 192.168.88.1
- Subnet 255.255.255.0
DHCP 192.168.88.100 -192.168.88.254
DNS 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4
From my pc:
- connect to the wireless interface of the hAP Lite
- with winbox login to 192.168.89.1 (Metal 52 ac)
- in the QuickSet of the Metal 52 ac I select one of the detected wifi AP
- submit the correct wifi password for the selected wifi AP
- click on the connect button
after some second the Metal 52 ac is connected to the selected wifi AP and I can navigate the internet from my pc.
Now come the fun part!
If I perform the very same steps above outlined, this time from a browser (tried both Firefox and Chrome on Windows, Androids and Safari on Mac), as soon as I click on the connect button I can see a message in the QuickSet of the Metal 52 ac telling me that is Searching network... but it do not connect!
So it seems that the Metal 52 ac can connect to a wifi AP only from winbox and this is a shame since I would like not to be forced using a Windows device only for connecting the Metal 52 ac to a wifi AP.
Can someone please help me?
