All work fine on all my MT routers EXCEPT http://www.aol.com and aol mail CANNOT be accessed through any device connected to the MT.
There my be more sites but so far aol is the one causing this head ache.
Connecting directly to/through the XDSL modem/router to the aol site/s works fine. So the problem MUST be in my (faulty) MT setups. I tried all the usual things but my brain is now almost pulp…
Please someone point me to where my setup fault is/might be.
I did find a solution to the problem – elsewhere – but still do NOT know what caused it.
I will explain briefly:
My xDSL modems are all setup in Bridge as well as PPPoE mode. And it functions (functioned) fine. Some clients connect to the xDSL modems directly. The MT’s use the Bridge function with PPPoE (client) to connect to a different (sometimes the same) ISP and the MT’s clients connect to the net this way.
Somewhere in this arrangement between the MT’s clients, the bridge connection to the xDSL modem, “something” prevents certain webpages from loading. Seem to be random sites.
I abandoned the bridge function on the xDSL modems and the MT’s and made the MT’s a simple DHCP client of the xDSL modems. Now its working…?
You will see that I lack some knowledge on things, but I hope to work out why this happened.
