Hi
I am getting weird behaviour when connecting a CCR1072-1G-8S+ (using one of the sfpplus ports) to a Cisco 3750X switch.
I am using a copper cable for the connection.
I have tried a variety of SFP copper modules, but we are not always getting a link between the two devices:
- Some times, the link comes up fine - no problem. Traffic works over the link.
- At times, the link does not come up at all - unplugging / plugging in the cable might bring up the link.
- I have read an article on the internet, that suggested to disable auto-neg on CCR. I have tried this - the link comes up on the CCR, but I have a down/down on the Cisco.
Forcing the speed on the Cisco to 1000, brings the link up on both CCR and Cisco, but no traffic is passing over the link.
I have also tried using a 1Gb fibre SFP in the 1072.
Without any changes, the port came up on the CCR, but down/down on the Cisco.
Disabling auto negotiation on the CCR and setting the speed to nonegotiate on the Cisco, brought the link up.
Traffic works over the fibre link.
Any ideas how I can get my copper links working consistently? I only have a limited amount of SFP ports available on my switches.
The CCR is running RouterOS v6.42.6 (stable).
Testing the copper links, I have tried Mikrotik, TP link, and Cisco SFP modules - all had the same behaviour.
