Weird data transfer slowdown

One of my MT 532 APs went into a severe slowdown mode late one recent night. Whereas the normal speed test I get would be around 3 megabits/s, I was pulling 60 and 70k. The traffic graph looked like a wall, the Tx bars were all the same height (as I recall, about 800 megabits), with the Rx bars about 10% of that. This went on for a couple of hours until I disconnected the customer that was using the most bandwidth at the time, although not more than a megabit (I did this by unclicking the authorization and forwarding boxes in the access control screen). The problem immediately cleared. I re-connected them and in a few minutes it started up again. I had them disconnect everything except their Cisco router (she is using VPN, working an at-home job handling dentist records, etc.). The next day I saw the wall again, but didn’t do a speed test. I assumed their router or a computer had been compromised and shut down their service for 2 days. Now, their equipment has been thoroughly checked out and no problem was found, so I’m wondering if it could be simply the CPE, which is a SmartBridges SB2100. Has anyone ever seen a similar lockup or weird oscillation or some kind of feedback loop, etc. with a SB radio on a MT/Ubiquiti AP?

Thanks!!!
