Can ver 5.4 handle scripting languages like PHP?
I’m trying to design a “smart” hotspot and would like to know what capabilities the inbuilt MT web server has.

No, it cannot. It can only handle simple HTML. You’ll have to use an external web server if you want to support dynamic programming languages.
