What cause packets lost?

In my network, there are more than 2000 customers, and about 40% of them are online, in order to control the bandwidth of each user, I implentment dynamic PCQ, I found there are 1-3% packets lost when pass through the ROS.

My ROS is version 2.9.27, the hardware is a professional servers with core 2 duo 2G above CPU and 1G RAM , the peak cpu utility is 30%, and the throughput is less than 65Mbps, the PCQ changes with 1 minute interval.

Can anybody help to analyze what cause packets lost?

qos / queueing is packet loss… you drop certain packets to let others thru. is this only happening when certain queues are full ?

ps- if you expect any help in the forums please upgrade to the latest 2.9.51 or 3.x series. 2.9.27 is a ‘no help’ version. : )
