What causes internt ON/OFF ?

Hello All,

I am managing few (Aroud 4 ASNs) independent networks (meaning they have different Upstream).
These are local ISPs selling service through EPON systems most of the time, there are few sites served with ethernet/copper infrustructure .
All the routers use by this ISPs are mikroitk except peering edge routers which are Juniper/Huawei.

I have noticed a common issue across these networks. randomly there is an issue of internet ON/OFF. service disruption that lasts for mins or secs sometimes.
Customers desription of the issue is " net disapears for few mins and then comes back, it says no internt on smart phones and computers"… on the computers it shows exclamation mark on the wifi icon.
The DNS server used on both clients end and Mikroitk routers is google 8.8.8.8
When the issue is happening, the most affected service/application is whatspp calls. says reconecting during call.

I have tried tshoot this by redirecting DNS requests to 1.1.1.1 for example, thinking it might google DNS issuse.. but still problem persists.
Anybody ever encountered this issue?
Anybody can give me pointers to troubleshoot.. i will appriciate.

Is the problem on all your networks?

Do you have SNMP or similar configured on your routers to monitor these outages? What’s happening with the Huawei/Juniper core routers?

What are these networks like? Are they routed? Do you have a network diagram?

More information is needed to help you.
