In my wifi settings country is selected as “etsy”.
What does it really mean?
If I leave in USA, what country I have to select, there are few “united states ***” countries in the list.
ETSI: European Telecommunications Standards Institute
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ETSI)
Use the Standard USA (country=“united states”)
Not always you can (allowed) use a devices in a country.
For example the hAP ac²:
We have two versions available.
hAP ac²-US (USA) is factory locked for 2412-2462MHz, 5170-5250MHz and 5725-5835MHz frequencies. This lock can not be removed.
hAP ac² (International) supports 2412-2484MHz and 5150MHz-5875MHz range (Specific frequency range can be limited by country regulations).
If you have the international version you could use it in the USA.
ETSI and ANSI
Two quite old standardization organisations…
The ETSI regulatory domain (set as country in WLAN) will be the regulatory domain used in most European countries.
You can set the specific country (Belgium, France, Germany, …) or just ETSI for those countries.
The allowed channels and transmit power differ from the US (FCC) settings.

The settings used by Mikrotik are visible in CLI
