The CRS305-1G-4S+IN was announced back in may, but I haven’t seen anything about it since. Streakwave has some on order, but it’s not even on the 'tik website.
This is basically perfect for a small proxmox cluster. Love to get my hands on a couple.

I want a bunch of these!
I can see plenty of uses, and I want them already ![]()
Also waiting for one of these, the mum HW thread had a quote from support “before March 2019”:

What I’m looking at is this unit was announced in the newsletter the same time as the wireless wire dish and a few other items which are out.
Personally, most interested in the CRS305. I really don’t need 10G for anything except proxmox clusters. No other decently priced switch has 3 SFP+ ports to do a proper 3 node cluster.
I thought the CRS were faster at routing.
I remember one being similar to the 2011.
The mips based crs are pretty slow routers. New arm units look great
It is the 400MHz ones that are very slow. The 600MHz ones are like 2011.
Oh yeah, i would need some of them ![]()
Or the CRS309-1G-8S+PC, there are no news, too.
Maybe it is time for CRS4.
The CRS3x series look really great actually.
The single core ones seem to only route about as fast as the 600MHz series.
Nice
$150RRP I like it, POE in as well on the 1G port.

It still only routes about as fast as the 2011.
No replacement for the 3011 or 4011, sad.
Good that it is fanless.
Only 16MB storage. How much does SwOS take? Does it have partitions?
Can the copper be used as a downlink?
Now a cheap router with 2 SFP+ ports is needed. Still worse than just having a wireless router with 4x 10GbE ports + 10x Base-T ports.
CRS305, use it as a switch.
It is clear that it should be used as a switch, mainly because of the low storage. Non-VPN routing speed would be OK for 500/50 or 250/250 WAN.
This makes for a fantastic 10G CPE… Consumer, or commercial. Especially if you build a network based on a vCPE architecture… just drop tags or service-per-port to the customer, and you’re in business. Can’t wait to test!
I think Mikrotik should just make a version with the 98DX3336 and 128MB storage and call it a router if they want.
+1
I think they should do this for a bunch of their products. The 24port PoE models would make a killer POP Router.
If they want to make it easy they can just add Hx2 to the name.
