I am wanting to upgrade my home router and I’m looking for a good affordable option. Here is some back story. I work for my local ISP and that comes with some perks like the ability to have 10Gb (or more) fiber to the home. I currently have 2 1Gb fiber run into my house. I am currently running an RB 3011 as my core router, and I have an RB 2011 as a backup router, but is used more as a test router honestly. I want to upgrade to a 10Gb router, but I don’t need high-end capabilities, I’m not running an ISP, I just have a handful of servers running. I have a good amount of firewall and Nat rules so I need something with some storage space on it. On my RB3011 I’m currently using 80MiB of Memory, 41Mb of HDD, and 2% of the CPU. What would a good option be for a router with Dual SFP+ so that I can utilize 10Gb LAN? I have been looking at the CCR2004-1G-2XS-PCIe, It is definitely in my price range and I could probably set up the 25Gb Wan also, but I haven’t seen a lot about it. Is anyone here using one and can tell me their experience. I think I would install it on one of my TrueNAS servers with 25Gb Wan, and 10Gb LAN to my switches so that I could have 10Gb on my other TrueNAS server, and plex server. Are there any specs I should be concerned about, or does the PCIE its plugged into just act kind of as a Power supply and the passthrough interfaces for that server?
