I’m used that there was new firmware almost every week.
Now there is latest thing the Testing branch and from 5th July 2021 - more than month ago.
Few days ago I saw in news “Latvia declared a state of emergency”

So my question is what is happening?
Not much. And those migrants are there to piss off Europe.
Using people as weapons is not very classy to get back at other countries while the problem is with you, Turkey and Belarus.
Work on 6.x has stagnated, and work on 7.x is a BIG job.
It’d be hard having your development resources split between 2 large projects.
Alongside that - real world issues like you linked along with chip shortages and pandemic in general causes the whole world to slow down realistically.
6.X is mostly bugfixing and minor improvements by this point - once we get the fundamentals of 7.x out and first stable release I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a MASSIVE influx of releases after that, as the team use the advanced kernel features and design changes to push more features.
