what is periodic calibration?

I can’t seem to figure out what periodic calibration is or how it would affect an ap or client.

I know I can turn it on at the ap or client and set it to a time such as 10 min but what is this setting doing?

It is used for ACK timeout setting, mikrotik tries from time to time to chet and set ACK timeout, it should be used on p2p links, and can be turned off on APBRIDGE mode if you use that mode for connecting clients to antenna.

I have a bh that is apbridge to a bridge client.

Any insight into what I might gain by using it here?

What sort of symptoms does the calibration attempt to mitigate?

Periodic calibration is a Atheros chipset feature (has nothing to do with ACK). I have it set to 30 on ptmp bridge. From what I remember it tries to tune out system noise (caused by thermal changes), but I’m 100% sure on that.
