thats first time found NO ANSWER
Before, someone recommended 24v 2A for RB433AH , and 48v 1A for RB600
the current is a good thing to add not like the voltage which will going to burn your board, and you should look at the total power which is VxA then you can calculate it by yourself, how many mini-pcis “each consume amount of power” and the RB433AH itself from specification sheets, and the length of POE cable runs from the source to the outdoor RB433AH …
For that if you want to overcome any power problems go with the second choice and remember current is good voltage is bad
and should not exceed the recommendation .
Second post. I still like multiple choice.
1.
See your Routerboard forum post for the reason.
one choose for (1) and one for (2)
any comment !!
any more ?
1 mini-pci XR5 needs 3.3 VDC and max of 1.8 A =5.95 say 6 watt , (2 XR5 = 12 watt)
1 mini-pci UB5 3.3 VDC and say 0.8 A max = 2.64 say (1 UB5 2.5 watt) “R5H may drain more power ! don’t know”
“the max power for addons is 16 watt”
the RB433 itself i dont know exactly how much it needs but at least 6 watt !
sum is : 20.5
if you run a long POE ethernet cable http://www.titanwirelessonline.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=91
100 feets will drain 1.2 watt that means you are in the critical area, and the power actually going to the board from the source is 22.8 watt and you drains 20.5 watt . Also the type of ethernet cable may vary depends on specification sheet loss .
If you are going to use the board for the maximum don’t risk it with 1.5 watt margin . otherwise 24v 1A is fine .
thnx MR. hgb
but i use xr2 not xr5
RB433Ah with ONE XR2
any more ?
but i use xr2 not xr5
RB433Ah with ONE XR2
Then don’t waste your time 18v 1A is enough also .
