What is the solution of whole update Mikrotik without Not enough disk space?

Hi every body;)
I hope you are very well.
I have ( RouterBOARD LHG 5nD ) device.
With its last software update, version:

mipsbe-6.46

And I want to update it with the latest software update, version:

mipsbe-6.46.2

By the means of whole automatically Package update:

routeros-mipsbe-6.46.2.npk

or the another Package update:

all_packages-mipsbe-6.46.2.zip

But I face No update with a known problem message as follows:

( Not enough disk space to perform update !!? )

So, let me ask you about that:

What is the solution of whole update Mikrotik without Not enough disk space?

I hope everyone helps me to do this as fully as possible.
thank you very much…

The only procedure, which guarantees success (once the fragile procedure starts to work) is netinstall …

Is your device on a network connected to internet? Did you already try to just use System->Packages->Check for Updates->Download&Install ?
(without sending files to the device yourself, just let it fetch the update automatically)

For this to work, IP->DNS has to be configured with valid data (or the DNS servers have to be automatically set there) and the device needs outbound access to internet.

Thank you so much dear mkx for your answer above;
The procedure you mentioned using NetInstall is really successful.
But the problem is that the MikroTik will be zero Formatted;((
This is not practical for me and for everyone as I think!
So, is there another alternative procedure ?

Yes, I have already used the method that you mentioned and tried repeatedly.
But, I can not automatically updated my devices from the inside it by ( Check For Updates ) !!?
And, I usually face some problems;
Like a problem: ( ERROR: could not resolve dns name ) !!?
Or a problem: (ERROR: bad HTTP response ) !!?

So, can you help me to solve that problem?

  1. Download all_packages-mipsbe-6.46.2.zip
  2. Unzip the package
  3. Upload only those packages into router Files section that are enabled and needed in your setup
  4. Reboot

You must configure the DNS servers in IP->DNS. When there is nothing in Servers and Dynamic Servers, enter one or more servers like 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 there.
And of course you must be able to reach internet from the device. So in Tools->Ping try to ping 8.8.8.8. That must work. When not, fix it first.
(check IP->Routes etc)

Thank you so much dear kalamaja for your answer above;
Yes, I have already used the procedure that you mentioned.
But not all tools are installed in that way, i.e. the installation is ( Partially ) not ( Fully ) ;(
And, if I select all files in the package of ( all_packages-mipsbe-6.46.2.zip ) after unzip.
Then, I face No update with a known problem message as follows:

( Not enough disk space to perform update !!? )

So, is there another alternative procedure ?

And, when I do a ping to an address like ( 8.8.8.8 ) or another seen, the result always is " Timeout " !!?
Really, I don’t know why?

So, can you help me to solve that problem?
Note:
I hope you to review the backup file of my Slave device that attached below,
and inform me if any comments you have on it;)

No. That is something you have to debug locally.

It is much better to check ping mikrotik.com as it checks not only Internet access but also a DNS resolver.

No, you need to ping an IP address first, then you know you have connectivity, then you can test name resolution

Thank you so much pe1chl for your interested.
Really! I hope you to help me to resolve this issue permanently :wink:
So, tell me what I do ?

Yes, I have already tried all the available solutions according to my knowledge,
including the ones mentioned by you as well.
And, when I do a ping to a domain name like ( mikrotik.com ) or an ip address like ( 8.8.8.8 ) or another seen,
the result always is " Timeout " on my Mikrotik devices only not my computer ;(
i.e. the ping process is successfully running on my computer :wink:
Really, I don’t know why?

If I get the “not enough disk space” error then I just reboot the device and then run the update straight after the reboot and it works.

Maybe you have log space configured very large, and rebooting deletes the logs.
