What switch do you guys recommend? Simple setup....

I have one RB750 and i want to use it like my test router for WIFI network. Lets say, i have 2 sector antennas and 2 ubiquiti devices working as AP’s in bridge mode, connecting to unmanaged L2 switch which leads to RB750. I have some tp link 5 ports switches and honestly i am little affraid that they wont be able to do decent job. If i connect one more sector and if i use RB750 as my hotspot, and if my wifi grows for about 50 users, will that switch be enough or should i search for another? Tnx in advance!

You should be woried about that RB750 holding 50 users. All not managed switches do just one thing, switch at maximum port speed.

Tnx for your reply. What model is decent replacement for 750?

RB951Ui-2HnD
is much faster, cheap and wireless is a bonus.

Switches will sustain. The rest is about the throughput, rules, queues and connections. May happen that 750 will handle 50 customers and may happen that 951 will not.

You are misleading people with this. Is simple, RB951Ui-2HnD is faster than 750. And with the same setup RB951Ui-2HnD is also much faster.

It is much faster. Right. But I am far from giving a statement that it will be enough if I do not know how it will be used. You do?

Never!

Tnx for info guys.
Im thinkin about RB1200 to take place instead of those 750’s…

Unfortunately you couldn’t get better answers because you didn’t provide any parameters about your needs .

I know. My mistake, i admit. I need router who can sustain acting like internet gateway, with hotspot for wifi users, firewall, Nat, DHCP server, couple of scripts which will backup configs and send them to my FTP. About 50 users, 60+queues. Throughput will be around 30 mbits/sec.
I had such a setup in one place and i was not delighted with performance, users kept complaining about low bandwidth. CPU on that 750 goes around 50-60% in morning, and about 70-80% at evenings. Thats why i ask, what router(or switch) should i use? 750 is one hell of a router, but i think of it more like office gear rather than router for this kind of work.

951g or 2011 seems to be enough for you.
