What type of encryption done by pppoe

Hi,

When creating a profile in PPP, if we set encryption=yes , what type of encryption is done over PPPoE.

And is it possible to do 256bit or 128bit encryption with Mikrotik with pppoe or with l2tp.

I am looking for some security measures. Please help me out.

I want to create a point to poin link between two computers with secure connection, so that if any anyone even tries to sniff it, it will be useless for the person, also at time same time looking for reliability, because i will implement it over a large network.

I want to ask, if we set encryption=yes , then what will be the effect on the CPU Load, like what will be the average load.

Currently i have a 2.8 GHz systeb with 1.5 GB RAM. I am thinking of shifting about 1000 clients to PPPoE with MPPE 128bit RSA. Will is be suitable.

I am also running L7 Protocol based VoIP Filtering and some QoS Rules.
