What would be your advice

Current situation:

Cable Internet, 50/5Mbps
RB951G-2HnD (main router)
RB911G-5HPnD (5GHz AccessPoint)

New situation:

Fiber Internet, 300/300Mbps

I’m looking for a new router that is capable of handling the new speed (and preferably is future proof…500/500 Mbps will be available within a couple of months), wireless is not necessary.
Beside that, I would like to have a single AccessPoint, dual band with 300/450Mbps marketed throughput.

At this moment I’m still in doubt…should I pick the RB2011?
I think it is not “enough” future proof for my situation, is the RB1100 the only (faster) alternative?
Or should I wait for new hardware??

As there is no real Mikrotik product available for my wireless AccessPoint wishes I tend to select a different brand: Ubiquiti UniFi Pro is exactly what I’m looking for but at a price.
Ubiquity is also offering a very nice router (EdgeMax) but I absolutely love the Mikrotik RouterOS.

Therefor my question: what would Be tour advice?

Get a RB1100AHx2 for the main router and build the AP for a dual-band AP on a 912.

That would be my advice

2011 can do 180mbit max with firewall and light QoS.

I’m with him…

Tanks For the respons so far…
Building an AP sounds like a good alternative.

I found this setup:

RB912UAG-5HPnD in combination with R11e-2HPnD
OR
RB912UAG-2HPnD in combination with R11e-5HnD

Either one of the combinations above beter than the other?
Or is there a beter alternative?

Combine the above with An CA411-711 enclosure.
Am I correct that an ACSWIM (antenna) is needed per MMX connection?

Lots of questions, hope I can contribute in the naar future as well!

Personally I don’t think one would be better than the other. I would pick whichever combo is cheaper. And yes… one antenna per chain.
