What's the best way to connect a load balancer and a shapper

Hello. I would apreciate some help in this topic…

I have a RB450G for load balancing and RB1100 for traffic shapping.
Now, i have them connected using the shapper as a transparent traffic shapper and it works perfectly.
But i have to connect a proxy server to the shapper, so i have to nat the connection and then redirect the port 80 traffic to the proxy. THE PROXY MUST BE CONNECTED TO THE SHAPPER.

I would like to know which is the best way i can connect the shapper and the load balancer. I thought about nat the connection from the shapper, but i will lose control of the ports. What could i do? Should i redirect all the ports from all my internet connections in the loadbalancer to the shapper’s ip?

I would like to do the best practice for this

Thanks in advance, Victor.

Just a quick question. Are you using src-address as qualifier in your load balancing?

I am using “both address”

Why do you ask?

Thanks

The problem would have been if you used scr-address, this would appear to the load balancer as though all traffic was from the same ip and all port 80 traffic would go through the same ADSL line Load balancing should be ok with both address. If you put proxy before limiter you would have a problem in that shaper limit the speed of al port 80 data as though it is one user and if you put it behind, there will be no limit on proxy downloadspeed, but should still be ok, since users would be shaped
