700 meg wireless throughput, year right. You ain’t gonna get that without the following:
A faster CPU on the motherboard
A 160 MHz wide frequency channel 2x2 , or a 40 MHz wide 6x6 channel.
Don’t get me wrong. I am wanting a 160 MHz wide 2x2 AC wireless card and can use it now. ((( My 80 MHz Ceee 2x2 networks can only deliver about 500 meg max ))).
normis, on a 2x2 connection , what is the Mikrotik-current-hardware and Mikrotik-near-future-planned-hardware fastest connection rate and throughput rate possible.
This may be true, but wave2 is not just about speed but also much better simultaneous multi-client operation. This is good for highly congested areas (hotspots, universities, hotels, events, …). I have not tested any wave2 product myself, but when talking with people who have, they say it works much better in situations where you have lots of users on a single AP.
So… when can we expect wave2 product from mikrotik?
What is now possible? Is this only between Mikrotik devices? What can be expected with capsman manager forwarding? I’m currently seeing nowhere near 700 with 6.40.3 on hap ac (support said 700mbps driver update was included as of 6.40RC18)
No, we tested with iperf from a Macbook Pro (because it has a good wifi wireless chip with 3 chain antenna, not a lot of client devices have them).
We could get around 800Mbit in perfect conditions. This was more to test the capability of the device, this is not normally possible with regular download in public area.
