I have run MikroTik products for the past 5 years. The flexibility of the product is great, in the routing sense!!! However it seems most of the resources always go into just the router side leaving the wireless so far behind everybody else. I am having to tell people look to Ubiquiti, Cambium, and Mimosa. I am looking at going that way as well for my WISP and I understand why so many are choosing these other products on the wireless side. MikroTik has nothing to combat AirFiber, New Cambium, Mimosa, or Ubiquiti Rocket5ac Prism, to name a few.
No support for MU-MIMO 2.4ghz, 5Ghz, 3ghz
No way to make custom channels any more
No way to pick MCS rate for 802.11ac, just have to rely on auto. Which is poor at best.
802.11ac performance is dismal compared to competitors
No 4x4 MIMO
No smart antenna designs
No 5Ghz RX filter like Ubiquiti, for interference mitigation
No ability to hard set TX rate on client side
No GPS sync
Etc…
