Where did fast-frames go ?

Apologies if this is a dumb question, I’ve only being using MT for a couple of days.

Here’s my problem : I installed a MT board as a replacement for an OpenWrt system
suffering from an evil madwifi bug that severely reduces sensitivity in 11a mode.
The original problem is cured, however I can’t achieve anything like the performance
I had before changing this one end of the P2P link to MT. I suspect that this is
because fast frames is not enabled on the MT end. In the docs, I see how to
enable it, but for some reason the software I am running (3.7) doesn’t let me
enable (basically the fast-frames directive is just missing altogether).

Did this get removed when nstreme was added ??

If I enable nstreme will it interoperate at all with a regular non-MT Atheros radio
that has FF and AR enabled ? (which is what I want in order to get my performance
back).

Thanks.

As far as I know, nstreme only works between nstreme-capable devices.

To be more specific. Nstream only works with other Mikrotik devices.

What is your hardware configuration, software configuration, signal strengths and noise floor?

I should never have mentioned nstreme :frowning:

All I want to know is ‘can I get the Atheros feature called fast frames enabled on a MT 3.7 system ?’

Reading the documentation, it appears that this capability existed in older versions, but has been
removed. I need it in order to interoperate (with decent performance) with non-MT Atheros devices.

Fast frames never made the difference you are indicating. What is your hardware setup and post your configuration. Something else is wrong.

Im a shifter from m0n0 and pfsense to MT but unfortuantly there is a bit difference on performance of the wireless cards. In MT I see lower RF values and slower rates especially on high-powered cards. But cant help you why .. just my 2 cents..
