In an earlier post, I was looking for how to let a single hotspot user have 20 concurrent logins and everyone else only a single login at a time. Basically, an hotspot at a hotel - the guests all use the same name and password. The signal that is also available at an adjacent property can allow others to sign up and pay for service - but they can’t share their accounts because they can only log on once - if someone else tries to use their account while they are on the system tells them they can’t login.
I found that by going to hotspot / users / profiles I could change the shared users count to allow more than 1 login for a single account at a time. The default profile is default. I changed that setting which implies that every account logging in via this hotspot can log in 20 times concurrently. I want to have two profiles - one called guests and one called default still. I’d like the default users profile to have only one concurrent login while the guests user profile is set to 20 concurrent logins. This allows me to operate a normal hotspot with all the people from a single property able to use a single username and password while other paying subscribers to the same hotspot only have one concurrent login at a time.
This leads me to my question… I do not see anywhere that allows me to associate a particular radius user with a particluar user profile. In fact, the only connection I have been able to make between radius accounts and the hotspot user profile settings is the fact that changing the default user profile settings allows the radius users to in fact log in with multiple concurrent sessions. There must be somewhere I can specify what user profile a radius user is applied to but I can’t find it anywhere. All my hotspot users are validated from radius server fyi…
Anyone have any ideas?
