Hi all, I am implementing a network in a old hotel. I have the link of 10mb, a server that does the firewall & proxy & dhcp. From this server, I need to do a wireless network, my initial thought is to add a new network card on this server and plug it to a switch, on this witch I will connect 4 ap distributed in 11 floors (1 each 3 floors) in bridge mode (the master server will manage the ip´s, security, band consuming reports, hotspot, etc.. - I am using BrazilFW.com.br linux)
I would like to know which routerboard i need to buy in order to finish this. The antena needs to be good, as we won´t put an ap in each floor.
Using all in this way would be good ? or I should add a RB750 (g ?) between the master server and the ap´s ? in this case, I would setup the rb to do the DHCP and the ap´s still would be in a bridge mode.
In case I use the RB, the hotspot built in it, is easy to use in voucher mode ? can I setup 2 users and give to 40 people, would be a problem ? do I have to create 40 login´s ? does it have Qos? reports of the use, who connect where/when and with wich ip & macaddress ?
As the rb750 is cheap, for me to add it in the middle would not be a problem, I just want to do a right thing since the star, so I won´t have to change all this in few months.
If this is not the correct way, what would be the one ?
what is the difference between the rb750 and 750G ?
The hotel has 11 floors and 45 rooms, on daily bases, the hotel is always in almost full capacity, I would say that in the top hours, we have 40 people connect (like 10/15 simultaneous at peak time).
I don´t want any network expert to ping, traceroot, see others in the same ip range, etc… in the Mikrotik AP or RB750, would be possible to manage this ? or this is the case to put a smart switch with support to a vLan´s ?
cheers mates!
