Which hardware for bandwidth control

Hello,

i’m new to mikrotik/swos and want to know which hardware i have to buy.
i just want to place a layer 3 switch between the internet router and the LAN on every site of the company.
on each company site we’ve got a 20MBit internet connection and want to give VOIP taffic (e.g. UDP 4569 iax or UDP 5060-6000 tcp) 5 MBit dedicated.
the other traffic can have the 15MBit - SMTP, http and so on.
a switch with two ports should be enough (-:

can anyone tell me if its possible with mikrotik/swos and which hardware i have to buy for my request?

thanks and best regards
Philip

Get the RB2011UAS-RM or the RB1100AHx2. At the bottom of each page they show Mbps when using 25 rules which you will more than likely have.

i don’t want a router because we are having a complicate network ..
so a switch will be a easy solution without changing default gateway and routing.

Just bridge two interfaces and set use-ip-firewall=yes on bridge settings

A layer 3 switch is a switch with routing capabilities. A routerboard is a router with switching capabilities. Both ARE routers

ok never tried.
So i can use a bridged router which two LAN interfaces.
One NIC is connected to the local LAN switch and the other NIC is connected to the default gateway.

OK, can u tell me which hardware i have to buy?

Thanks!!
regards
Philip
