All installations of RouterOS as on x86 devices as well as on RouterBOARDs can do Hotspots.
RouterBOARDs come with different license levels, which determines how many simult. Hotspot users can be online on that device.
You can find license level differences here: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:License_levels
When purchasing RouterBOARDs the license level that comes with the board is clearly indicated. You can always purchase a higher license at whatever level you choose. For x86 all you do is buy a license at the appropriate level.
Level 6 is unlimited users, but the - currently - most powerful RouterBOARD, the RB1100, can do approx. 1800 simult. users before running out of resources (CPU at 100%).
Hope that helps.
thanks my friend good information
i knew about the license level
level 4 = 200 users … level 6 = unlimited
but what i mean from my question
the suitable hardware like cpu and memory
mean if i have in a company 50 users which one is good
RB750 or should i use RB750G ??
i make it clear is there a number of users for each RouterBoad if we use them as hotspot ?
It depends on what else the board is doing. A 750G is sufficient for 50 users, but personally I don’t like using anything without a console port for something I charge for.
I’d go with a 450G for small deployments under 100 users, an RB800 for deployments between 100 and 400 users, and an RB1100 for deployments over 400 users.
thanks borther
