Which Model For My Network

Hello,
i want to switch from linux gateway to mikrotik for better maintenance and … there are 200 users and may become 250 (in future) … now i don’t know which model is good for my network , most traffic is mail and web… i want to enable vpn site to site between mikrotik and other linux gateways , i have RB751u-2hnd in home but i’m not sure it’s good for this network…
any suggestion,

It depends. We have 450’s and 450Gs running 200-250 room hotels without any issues with the CPU at around %30 or less most of the time doing hotspot, very basic QoS, and load balancing. So one of those boxes would fit that need, the issues that come into play is your desire for VPN tunnels between it and linux boxes. You need to answer how much bandwidth you wish to push through those tunnels and what kind of tunnel do you want to use.

IPSec is going to be one of the most secure ones, but also has the highest CPU overhead, especially in a little box, and therefore the least amount of bandwidth that can be pushed through it. With GRE or EoIP you can get near full bandwidth, but no security or encryption in the tunnel.
