my dad wants a good coverage of our backyard with WiFi for our Phones and Notebooks. I already have 3 CAPs with Capsman so it should support CAP Mode.
It should have 2.4GHz to support older Devices, 5 GHz is optional if it costs not so much more. The Budget is about 100€.
Needed Range is about 40-100m, 30° wide in one direction, i live in a small Village so there is not that much wifi interference like in a city, maybe 5-6 other Wireless Networks are around here.
Which directional AP should i buy?
My guess would be the SXT 2 or the SXT SA5 ac for Dual Band WiFi.
Edit: i noticed the SXT SA5 ac only has 5GHz, the 802.11n got me confused.
I’ve seen that too but its a bit too expensive for that usecase that we dont use it all the time (just at the evening for 1-2h or when we have guests there)
But do you think the mANTBox 2 12s would be great for that if we only need 2.4GHz to stream some youtube vids or make some video calls? Or is the SXT 2 better for that Price?
The mANTBOX 12s is better because it can receive signals better than the SXT2, and that’s important with devices that can’t send much out to begin with.
I got the mANTBox 2 12s and its so awesome! The wap_ac would be a bad option tho because i want it directional and i already have an AP (Audience) in my Room. But the mANTBox is awesome, wide range and fast.
