Which RADIUS systems work well with Mikrotik?

We want to start AAA stuff with RADIUS and our MT routers and AP’s.

What are you all using for RADIUS these days? Would prefer it run on Windows since the rest of our systems are running on Windows.

I’m thinking FreeRadius would be good.

You can use Microsoft IAS.

I haven’t done much testing with it, but I got it up and running withing an hour. That beeing a newbie on AAA/RADIUS.

Have use FreeRadius on freebsd. 1 year of using - no problem.
but you need some experience for this.

I am thinking FreeRadius. I think it will run on Windows?

Is it possible to chain RADIUS requests?
Like query one RADIUS server and then another RADIUS server in a list or in a series maybe?

Seems like that would be useful for a wide area hotspot or hotspot/roaming model.

I don’t think it runs under Windows.

This is done in RouterOS, where you can specify more than one RADIUS server.

Radiator and VOPRadius are a few that run on Windows. Radiator is somewhere around $700 and VOP is quite a bit more ($2000?). I guess you get some nice UI stuff for looking at all your Radius settings/users with VOP…haven’t tried it though.

and how about http://moon.mt.lv/radius/ ?

We still do not know the cost of using MT’s Hotspot Manager?

Personally, I would not start using a system with an unknown pricing model.

Spending time learning the solution and teaching the hotspot managers how to use a system we perhaps cannot use (because of the price issue sounds risky.

right now it is free - go and use it, it is full featured and bug free. it’s not like it is some unstabile beta version.

“Right now it is free” is exactly the problem.

other threads already discuss this - if ever it will become a subscription service, then it will cost 40-50$ per month.
