I discovered that my RB453G has additional system health information which not only reports the voltage being supplied to the unit but also the current (278 mA) and it’s power consumption (4.6 to 5.0W). I find this very usefull especially when dealing with solar powered relays. Which other units offer this type of detailed information?
You think RB953GS?
For example RB750UP, OmniTIK UPA-5HnD and others show poe out current
But he was interested in the inbound current, not outbound…
Since my posting I have found out that my RB750UP units show information under interface>Ether2 to Ether5 ports.
My Ether2 gives poe output current (173mA), voltage( 23.3V) and power (4.3W). The unit that is being powered is a RB411AH and I"m unsure of the radio card but it’s listed as AR92xx. It reports a system health of 25.1V input.
The first thing that I notice is that the output voltage and the input voltage different, in fact I would have expected the input voltage to be lower due to the 80ft line loss.
For debuging issues especially solar issues it’s really nice to have the extra reporting such as what my RB750UP adn the RB435G gives me. I had a solar system failing me and the entire time I thought it was a wireless or possibly battery issue at my solar site. What I eventualy disovered was that it was droping due to low voltage and the unit was just rebooting. I switched to 24V and things have been running great now.
From an operations standpoint I would like to know more information than voltage which is all thats reported in my RB911G units. So I was curious if there are any all in one boards that have current, voltage and power information on the input side of things.
