Whish:Frequency Testing!

Hello guys,

I know this will sound crazy
But, in wireless crowded areas you would experience frequency(noise/ping etc.) problems very often.
Could you implement something like script to be shedulled (example 5:00AM)
to test the best frequency by changing channels, testing with flood ping and calculating the best preformance frequency??
It would be awesome
Cheers…

Djape, I think that DFS Mode if doing that. Or I was thinking that DFS mode is suppose to do that. I try to use it but it always use 2412MHz (1st channel)

I know that there is DFS mode for Atheros, but there is not for Prism.
Anyhow, it shouldn’t be dependable of wireless card type,
just something like script calling the frequency change following flood ping until all channels are listed, then calculating and automatically setting the best channel
I know many of you will say that I ask too much, but I am pretty sure that MT crew can do something like that without problems
Cheers…

Makes sense, and something like this could very easily be scripted in 2.8 as well (all the features are there). Again, I’m no script g0d tho

Well, I need this badly :frowning:

We woke up this morning and our AP (prism 2.5) was disaster until I changed channel from 2447 to 2442.

It never happend to us with atheros 5212, but again each location is different, and most probably it doesn’t have to do anything with the card type…

This morning I changed frequency back to 2447 to work normally…

I hate wireless
