Who Broke It?

Ok, anyone else not able to get to the forums for the past few hours or is it just me?

For me it was down since yesterday afternoon (CET)…

Best regards,
Christian Meis

duh, how come you can post then? nothing has been down, new messages appear all the time.

by “down” i mean all my http connections were hanging at “connecting to forums.mikrotik.com” for the past 24+ hours

It certainly was not avaible from Australia either.
Absolutely! something went down. A tracert hit latnet and stopped

yes, we found the problem and fixed it.

The “was” in my message should have said enough - it’s (of course) working now again

Best regards,
Christian Meis

we have this problem from Malaysia as well.
I must keep refreshing forum.

I wonder if there is MT routerOS in the path to the website :sunglasses:

luckily no  the forum works now, doesn’t it?

that problem is gone but a different one is on.

check the screen shot and tell me what is wrong in them:

try to refresh the page and check if you still don’t see the icons.

of course dude,
thats what I’m doing and not seeing anything
sometimes it comes and most of time it doesn’t

but icon is not something I can’t live without,
but in many cases there is many packet lost
to this website, even the download section

if I wanted to help you, I would tell you that
you have wrong setup for phpbb

the url for phpbb is set with double forward slash >>>> /

like this> http://forum.mikrotik.com//viewforum.php?f=2

there is double forward slash after .com which confuse the browser
and apache as well to look in wrong folder for the images.

but also the notifying messages are sent in different format:

I hope mikrotik fellas can setup its own platform better than the way
they setup phpbb in their site.

Careful, or you’ll set the “topic delete” flag!

the forums were down for a day yesterday. now they are back. the double clicking (double syn neccessity) was a problem for 2-3 days last week, this seems to be fixed. It don’t believe its a phpbb issue, i think its a squid / proxy issue… there is a proxy server in front of phpbb. the wiki was also down which leads me to believe it was an issue other than phpbb.

Sam

I’ve seen proxy server in client site, but never saw one at server site…
however, you might wanna check your control panel phpbb if there is some
where some / or maybe you need to check your control panel that redirect
http://forum.mikrotik.com to http://mikorik.com/forum, maybe your redirection is the culprit

I’ve noticed the double slashes for some time now…I don’t think that’s the issue. Anyways, no need to get nasty about it - be happy everything is working again

it is definately the issue,
when I take it out manually it works fine

Seems like it affects only some browsers?

peter walker

no slashes here, and no problems at all. we will check compatibility

below is what I see in IE6,0.2900.2180

No ill effects though - it works OK here … at least I can’t recognise any problem with forum operations on my IE, but maybe other browsers…
