I am really surprised why RB912UAG-5HPnD-OUT has plastic case, when it’s very important to put board in metal case,
Why are not you make metal APs, RB912UAG-5HPnD-OUT is great even with plastic in the same place where Rocket M5 Titan drops rx mcs periodically to 6.5mb,
but has packets loss 1-4% I think due to co-location interference..
It’s not just the radio card that needs to be shielded but also certain parts of the antenna, this is especially true when the antenna is in receive mode, a simple frequency scan will show other AP’s on the band and noise floor should reveal other items not being displayed but are present in the frequency scan bandwidth.
The best design is when board and antenna is shielded as one unit without external cabling.
So SXT SA with better antenna and metal shielding is the way to go.
I think that rb912 in plastic is failure, would be great if Mikrotik will make shield for Ap and Antenna itself,
I placed rb912 plastic Ap on Ubiquiti Titan sector, it works great, but shielding of AP is very important( I understand that pigtails need to be shielded too)
This is a real good sector for the money. I would like to see a SXT SA Pro Version with a bigger sector Antenna and the board attached to it in a metal housing with internal pigtails. Of course this will be much more expensive but worth the money.
As I see here, it has exact same power as rb912-out, but I wonder, can I put there rpsma to connect it to Ubiquiti Titan sector?
or Can you advice another shielded high quality sector 60 or 90 degrees to pair with this AP?
