on mikrotik rb i can set ether bort this option
interface ethernet edit ether1 bandwidth
but it dont work even if i set it 512k/512k it stays blank
but i can not set this option on a x86 box
with mikrotik os on
can anyone tell me how to set a limit on a rb via the inteface
or is it a bug

Works here.
/interface ethernet
set ether1 bandwidth=1M/1M
…but only when the interface is part of a switch, either master or slave. Technically, more like a hub. master-port set on one or more interfaces.

… and it’s not available on x86 platform. only RB with switch chip =)
