Why is the MT website so slow?

When downloading from the MT website I usually only get about dial-up speeds. Is this due to the MT website being served by a routerboard based link?

All other websites are fast (typically about 700KB/s). The tracert shows big latency jumps just a hop or two from the MT server.

Does not seem to bode well for the product being fast if the website for it is as slow as dial-up.

I could understand if it was not hosted in North America but their web server is only 2 peers away from me.

probably because 2 new versions we’re released today and there is a HUGE userbase downloading them : )

I have never had really high speeds downloading from the MT site.

This website will provide almost 10mb download on an off day. Can’t even get a page to load when a new release goes out.
