A requirement to work at Tik is IMHO you have a strong sadistic streak. The whole "Device-Mode"-nonsense is only one... Once I forgot that sh*t to configure in deployment and I had to drive 600km (300km oneway).

I've gotten to the point that the first two things I do when I unbox a MikroTik is to set the mode and bring it up to current ROS . . . Simple things like e-mail should not require advanced! They are just too fundamental . . .
Before I drive 600km, I'd spend 100€ on someone to go to site and power cycle the device. Be clever.
For that kind of money, you can also get "smart" power distribution/control gear that will allow you to bounce it remotely. I use small devices of that nature at remote sites on ISP (and my) gear, so if something croaks, it will see the failure and bounce the device.
Not saying these are the best of recommending the company, but I have had 2 in use for at least 7 years, and never a glitch. (Saved my butt a few times though . . . the "commute" would have been 1400 miles.)
(There is also a cheaper single port variant.)
Synaccess is a more "pro" vendor of this type of stuff, but have dropped the smaller units andngotten pretty crazy expensive. If you just need control but no auto recovery (you can't remote bounce something through a dead network . . . ) APC and others have IP power control options as well.
Perhaps brutal overkill for a one-time setting, but can also add reliability to "lights out" remote sites.
