Why should I use an onboard card?

I have an rb450g at home.

Currently, my wifi is via an outdoor ap that was starting to fail and too unstable for work, but “good enough” for visitor wifi in my home.

I’ve had good results with various external AP’s - engenius/ubiquity and others.

I want good, stable indoor wifi, but I also want to shove an antenna up in the air 30 feet or so for experimenting with longer range p2p links.

I’m thinking multiple radios is all that makes sense, since an onboard would lose signal from the radio to the antenna.

Is there anything in the ROS feature set that is compelling with respect to wireless?

I don’t really envision doing dual nstreme anytime soon.

The MT radios seem limiting, with nothing above 350mw, whereas there is a fairly wide selection of standalone 1000mw ap’s available.

I could just put a Bullet2hp on an omni for indoor use.

I just feel like I’m missing something if I don’t cram every possible bit of junk in my 450.
